About me

Born and raised in Berlin, my career began in a forge where I was trained as a traditional blacksmith before later venturing into design. This journey has continued to take me across companies, continents, and cultures, often enough leaving me feeling like a misfit in one way or another.

What kept me grounded has always been to create with my hands. After returning to Germany MISFIT Jewelry was born in Munich in February 2024.

One of a kind

Each piece you can find here is a one-of-a-kind; no digital, no molds, no series production. Handcrafted in my studio from sketch, to build, to cast to finish.

The pieces I make, they've got human traces all over them. "Imperfections" which authentically document the work, which went into making them.

Some are quick to finish; others, I wrestle with for weeks or months, waiting for that moment when everything just clicks. Once it’s done, each piece is loaded with energy and love, it’s a piece that's as unique as the person who ends up wearing it.

Made to order

Spotted a piece here but it's not your size? Just let me know and I'll create a similar one that fits you just right. Plan on about 1-2 weeks plus a bit for shipping. However, remember, each piece is its own beast—no two are identical! So even though I'll aim to get close to the original, the one I'll make for you will be very unique in it's own way.

Ring sizing

If you don't know your ring size, best is to visit a local jeweler to get measured right. They've got the tools to pin down your exact size. Or, grab a ring you already own and measure the inner diameter. Just remember, the width of the ring changes the game. A wide band is harder to put on and feels tighter, so you might need to increase your size a half or even a full notch to get that perfect fit.

Materials

Sticking to recycled silver and gold is really not about making a big scene; it’s just simpler and cleaner than digging up new stuff. Mining’s a mess, so using what’s already been pulled out of the ground simply makes more sense. It's straightforward and a bit kinder to the planet. That’s it.

925 classic silver, we all know it, perfect for a high bling polish

999 fine silver (comparatively soft - intentionally will collect traces of wear over time)

Nordic Gold is a classic brass alloy that, contrary to its name, does not contain any actual gold

Brass gold of the poor, endless possibilities to add amazing patina

Gold the good stuff, comes in different karat variations

Gemstones

When it comes to the stones I use, they are all natural unless specifically mentioned otherwise & if possible (because you'll never know 100%), come from places that play fair. Places where Mother Earth and its workers get the respect they deserve. No cutting corners or stepping on toes for a bit of sparkle. It's about creating something beautiful without leaving a mess behind.

Shipping

Shipping in the EU is free. A flat shipping rate of €30 applies for all non EU countries. All prices include taxes, ensuring transparency and no hidden costs.

Returns

Received it but it doesn’t click? You can send it back within 14 days of delivery for an exchange, store credit or money back. For a full refund the piece and packaging needs to be in original condition. Remember, customized (e.g. engraved) items are final sale—no returns on those. If you decide to return something, please note that the cost of returning comes at your expenses.

Taking care of jewelry

If you just want a quick polish, use a jewelry cloth — even paper towels might scratch the finish. When it’s time for a thorough cleaning, enjoy your drink, but keep alcohol away from your metals; it's too harsh. A soft cloth is all you need for washing and drying. Use gentle soap, warm water, and a soft brush, these are your best bet. Be sure to avoid harsh chemicals like bleach; they're a killer.

A tip for the ladies: Always put on your jewelry last, after makeup, lotions, perfume and what not have dried. These things don't go well with the sparkle. Lastly, - common sense: Remember to take those pieces off before tackling any home improvement projects.

Open to collaborate

I’m always open to any kind of collaboration, happy to meet new folks, and work with you & your brand to cook up something special e.g. limited editions. So if you have an idea and want to connect, drop me a line and let's see what we can create together.
